This bookmark was made in France as a souvenir of the Musee de L'Armee. It is brass, abalone and mother-of-pearl. The top has a bust of Napoleon and a wreath surrounding a building labeled Paris. The building is the Musee de L'Armee, located at the Invalides in Paris, France. Originally built as a hotel for disabled soldiers (Invalides) by Louis XIV, it now houses the Tomb of Napoleon 1st and the museum of the Army of France.
