This bookmark was made in the US by F.A. Hermann Co. It is marked Sterling and has the manufacturers hallmark of an "H" enclosed within a triangle. It is actually most likely not a bookmark but a small letter opener. It has an enamel shield on top and cutouts in the blade. The date is 1900 - 1910.
