This bookmark was made in London by Asprey. It is a very unusual piece that is made with a clip and a spring. It clips over the front or back book board and the arm keeps the page open. It is marked Pat. No. 257529 in the center of the clip. On the bottom of the clip is the manufacturers mark A & Co., Ltd., the lion and the mark for London and the date mark C indicating the year 1938. In the lower right hand corner is marked Asprey London. The arm has the lion and the mark for London and the words "Made in England".
