This bookmark is made in Japan between 1890 - 1910. It is made of brass with a picture of a small bird on a branch of a tree in relief on the smaller blade and a bird in flight near a plant engraved on the longer blade. This one also has the original bead and tassel at the top. The dealer said she found this with a collection of Japanese page turners that she purchased. This looks like smaller versions of them.

This bookmark is made in Japan between 1890 - 1910. It is made of brass with a picture of a man holding a staff with a monkey on his back in relief on the smaller blade and an engraved flower on the larger blade. This is similar to number 164. The dealer said she found this with a collection of Japanese page turners that she purchased. This looks like smaller versions of them.

This letter opener is American made by Whiting Manufacturing Co. It is marked Sterling with the manufacturers hallmark and the number 4308. The date is 1896. I originally thought that it was a bookmark but I found it in the 1896 Whiting catalog as a letter opener.

This bookmark is made in France and is a Stanhope or 'peeper'" bookmark. It is probably silver plate over brass and made between 1890 and 1920. If you look through the '"peep hole'" you can see 6 photographs of different buildings. The center says '"In Memory of Grange'". The six photos are: '"The Station'", '"Cartmel Church'", '"Grange from the Station'", '"Grange from YEWBARROWCRAG'", '"St. Paul''s Church'" and '"Grange Hotel'". It also says Made in France. There is some lettering in the center that is too small to read but I think is says Dublin. The handle of the bookmark pulls apart and a mechanical pencil is inside."

If you look through the "peep hole" you can see 6 photographs of different scenes. The center says "In Memory of Isle of Wight". The six photos are: "Ryde Pier", "The Green", "Osborne House", "Whippinghan Church", "SandDown Bay & Esplanade" and "West Cowes". It also says Made in France.
